OUR

STORY

Dingo's K'gari (Fraser Island) Tours began back in 2005 as one of the few companies with the licence to conduct guided eco-tours on the World Heritage Listed K'gari (Fraser Island). Since then, our passion for sharing the beauty and experience of K'gari (Fraser Island) has continued to grow, winning us awards for our guided Fraser Island tours.

As the world’s largest sand island, K'gari (Fraser Island) is truly one of a kind. This World Heritage Listed place is full of ancient rainforests rising from the island sands, crystal clear lakes separated from the sea and is home to unique Australian wildlife. At Dingo's, it’s our mission to share our appreciation and love of this extraordinary island with you.

As experts in all things K'gari (Fraser Island) we aim to help you experience all that this unique island has to offer. Our guides aren't just K'gari (Fraser Island) enthusiasts - they are the most experienced, knowledgeable and without a doubt best on the island. When you book a tour with us, you are guaranteed to be in the safe and capable hands of a true professional.

Our tours are designed to make the most of your time on the island and see as many highlights as possible. K'gari (Fraser Island) is famous for its temperamental tides and there are times when certain locations are inaccessible. For this reason, we have modified our departure time to ensure we use the tides to our advantage. We are one of the only tour operators to implement this strategy, meaning our customers won't miss the best of the island during their visit.

We've operated tours and enjoyed privileged access to one of the most beautiful places in the world for nearly 19 years. We want to preserve this incredible island for many years and generations to come which is why our tours are designed to be as environmentally sustainable as possible. We implement measures to reduce our impact on this unique area, including reducing packaging waste with our supplied meals, tracking our carbon emissions, exploring solar power options in our offices and tracking our progress to assess ways we can improve our operations in the future.

Dingo's also work closely with the traditional custodians of the island, the Butchulla people. Our tours provide the only opportunity on K'gari (Fraser Island) to stay exclusively in a genuine bush camp on traditional First Nations land, invited by the local Butchulla. Two Elders are onsite to interact with guests and provide an authentic insight into the history and culture of Fraser Island.

Our story isn't finished yet. We will continue to provide our guests and future travellers an incredible experience on K'gari (Fraser Island), now and for many years to come.
